The sales of B.B.N.P.’s pale lager ‘Czechvar’ have been going up in the host country of this year’s ice-hockey championship. In 2007, B.B.N.P. exported nearly 5,000 hectolitres there, which was 43% more than the previous year. The sales in the first three months of 2008 indicate a year-to-year increase by 23%.
České Budějovice, 6th May 2008 – B.B.N.P. brewery has been exporting beer to Canada since 2001, when the first 500 hectolitres of the pale lager was exported there. Since then, sales have been gradually rising. So far the most beer in the history of selling to Canada - almost 5,000 hectolitres, was exported there last year, which means an annual increase by 43%.
The favourable trend has been continued this year as well. “Our beer has been gaining more and more customers. The sales to Canada in the first three months of 2008 indicate a year-to-year increase by 23%, with March sales reaching an increase by as much as 87%. We believe that this year’s ice-hockey championship will even more support the positive selling trend of Czechvar, since customers will more likely express their interest in imported products,” says B.B.N.P.’s export sales manager Renata Pánková.
B.B.N.P. has exported to Canada exclusively its bottled pale lager under the Czechvar trademark. Presently, customers can buy it mainly in retail stores.
