B.B.N.P. brewery has been awarded a silver medal in the “Brewers Association (BA) World Beer Cup 2006“ worldwide contest. This contest evaluates beer from all over the world and decides on the most outstanding brands of beer currently produced worldwide.
Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in 85 beer categories during a lavish “World Beer Cup Gala Awards” ceremony in the Washington State Trade & Convention Center in Seattle, USA .
B.B.N.P. brewery received a silver medal in the “Bohemian-Style Pilsner” category for its light lager, which is exported to the USA under the designation of “Czechvar Premium Czech Lager”. Ninety-day maturing period, using top quality raw materials (namely Žatec hops, assorted Moravian malt barley and pure spring water from artesian wells) and a long-standing brewing tradition in České Budějovice guarantee the inimitable taste of Czechvar light lager. Amongst the outstanding features of this lager belong a rich thick head, distinctly golden colour, full aroma with a typical hop flavour and weak to medium bitterness of gentle to slightly rough character with a short after taste. The lager has a medium to strong kick, making the consumer long for more. This light lager has been embellished with many medals and awards in both Czech and international quality contests.
B.B.N.P. belongs amongst the most successful Czech companies, having established a strong position on the Czech as well as international markets during its 110-year long existence. Its light lager is one of the most exported Czech beer brands, currently being exported to 50 countries worldwide.
“We appreciate this award a great deal, having stood the test within an enormous competition of the top quality beer brands from all over the world. The fact that we were awarded in spite of the Americans outnumbering in the jury makes us particularly happy,” says B.B.N.P.’s brew master Josef Tolar.
An international jury chose the winner of the “World Beer Cup 2006“ contest, having evaluated 2,221samples, which had been supplied by 540 breweries from 56 countries. Participation in the contest had been offered to 3,800 breweries from 100 countries.
