B.B.N.P. has substantially increased its export to Canada, now even launching the sale of its canned lager | 23.11.2009

B.B.N.P.’s export to Canada has substantially grown this year. During the first ten months of 2009, the sales of Original Czechvar Czech Beer in Canada showed a 21% year-on-year rise.

Due to the increased interest of customers, the historically first supply of the canned Czechvar Lager has been dispatched to Canada today.

České Budějovice – The brewery B.B.N.P. has been importing to Canada since 2001, when the first 500 hectolitres of pale lager were supplied. Since then, the sales have been dynamically growing.

This favourable trend has continued through this year as well, seeing that B.B.N.P. has imported almost 7,000 hectolitres of beer to Canada during the first ten months of 2009, which represents a year-on-year increase by 21%. the volume of the exported beer to Canada by mid-September amounted to last year’s total.

B.B.N.P. has been exporting its lager to Canada in bottles under the label of Czechvar. in 2008, the export of keg beer was launched. “Due to the growing demand as well as the importer’s interest, we have despatched the first Czechvar Lager in cans to Canada today. Since the popularity of canned beer has been growing in Canada in the last years, we are confident that our newcomer will be met with success,” says B.B.N.P.’s business manager for Canada Vlasta Kociánová.

The first despatch, which represents historically the first export of lager labelled Czechvar in such a type of packaging, contains 34,776 half-litre cans, totalling approximately 174 hectolitres. the cans will be travelling to Canada by truck as well as boat for about 4 weeks. They should show up on shop counters in Ontario during the Christmas period. Gradual launching of cans is planned to take place also in British Columbia, Quebec and Alberta throughout 2010.
